Utilizing turmeric as a spice is not new to me. In fact, I’ve been cooking with it long before I began homesteading. Long before I began owning my food source, and long before I began living holistically.

A few years back I managed to attract every germ imaginable, causing me to develop a severe cold. At the time I was working at a preschool and a large percentage of the families which attended were from India. One of the mother’s provided me a simple gold milk recipe, promising it would help sooth my cold.

Aside from consuming this simple golden milk recipe during cold and flu season, I began incorporating as part of my nightly routine during the cooler evening nights.

During the winter months my RA is quite uncooperative. Making sleep difficult due to the inflammation in my joints. A nightly mug of golden milk for sleep and joint discomfort allows my body to become recharged by the morning.

I heeded her advice and consumed the golden turmeric milk a few times a day for 4 days. Let’s just say, I felt much better by the end of the fourth day.
